Oh the things they say
I love love love my two boys, but they sure do keep me on my toes. Here are just the latest!
A couple weeks ago was Bryce and Tyler's 29th birthday. I got Bryce new clippers for his birthday and lets just say they are sharp. Well on Saturday morning the 22nd Jacob and Stephen got them out and proceeded to shave their heads. Yes they did, well Jacob was so bad we had to shave it all off, Stephen thankfully on had 2 little spots missing so I left his hair and we just hope it grows fast. Jacob has been asking about his hair growing every day. The first thing he said once we shaved it all off was "Mommy I want my hair back on" poor boy didn't realize it has to grow out and that it takes time. I went and bought him a ball cap right away and he has worn it everywhere everyday since then.
Last Tuesday night we had some yucky thunderstorms and the thunder woke Jacob up and he was crying out for me. I went and settled him down and got him back to sleep, well the next morning on the way to Mothers Day Out he was singing, like always and making up words. Some of the lyrics were about pink thunder and then the next song was about blue thunder. He cracks me up with his colors and making up songs. The kid loves to sing. Then after singing for a while and Stephen was sitting quietly Jacob looked over at Stephen and told him EBEN, aka Stephen, you are not singing, you need to sing. So Stephen started singing too. It was hilarious!! Then Jacob said, Eben we need to pray for the Thunder, so they bowed their little heads and Jacob said the following prayer, Lord thank you for the pink thunder and thank you for keeping me safe, in Jesus name amen! Be still my heart!!! Ah I just melted! To precious!
So then as precious as they are this past weekend I think their personality's changed for a coupld days, we went to Grand Lake with Bryce's family for a fun filled weekend. Well Jacob started the weekend by playing with a child size four wheeler that was in the garage and got going down the steep driveway and could not stop and drove over Stephen, no worries he is fine a few scrapes and bruises. However Jacob was not done he then got going again and straight into the pond at the end of the driveway!! Ah he is a mess!! We did have a great time on the boat tubing and riding the jet skis!! Fun family memories!!
Monday morning was very trying we had several things to do and I didn't want to even get up out of bed let alone meal plan, shop, go pick up the van or anything. Well finally we started moving but at breakfast I walked off and Jacob went to get another fork out of the drawer, seeing as how you two go through several forks a meal, but he got out 2 very sharp knives and handed one to Stephen and kept one himself. Well they were cutting their toast into little pieces when Jacob came running up to me, Mommy, Eben has blood. Boy did he have blood he had sliced his thumb right in the joint!! He got it good. It took me over an hour to get him calmed down and of course I was unprepared and didn't have small enough band aids so I made due with what I had and we went to the store to get him little ones and some neosporin. Poor baby is terrified of us changing the band aid he cries so hard for so long! I feel terrible for him. He will heal fine, but poor child has had enough injuries here lately! Once we left to go pick up our van Stephen went right to sleep and slept for a little while. Had to renew his energy after crying so hard.
So then this morning as I call them to come eat breakfast Jacob told me he wanted to move his chair next to Stephen so he could be close to him to talk to him. I was thinking of this is not going to be good, they are not going to eat very well. They did a good job eating, but the best part was the conversations. Jacob telling Stephen look how much my hair is growing. "Stephen can we play outside together at school?" Stephen do you want to go to school today?" Silly questions!!
Boys all I have to say is thank you for the memories!! Let's try to stay alive and not hurt each other.
